JAANE JAN (SUSPECT X)
Watched movie “Jaane Jan” on Netflix this
weekend. The movie reminded me about my love and passion for mathematics while
I was in school. Maths remained my favorite subject up till matric and I almost
got highest marks in every maths test. I had a habit of practicing mathematics
questions from book exercise and keep repeating this activity.
The movie “Jaane Jan” revolves around a
murder and how a mathematics teacher puzzles the whole police department in the
case. He so accurately executes his plan that the police got convinced what he
tells them. The other side of a movie shows the same mathematics teacher a sore
loser in his love life and despite being attracted to his neighbor next door
fails to mention his love towards her until the very last scene of movie when
it was too late.
The solving of daily life problems and equating and justifying their solution through mathematics equation is yet another unique aspect of the movie. I remembered vaguely that one of teachers told the class the main objective of the Maths is to enable our minds to solve problems of real life and enhance critical ability of mind.
The movie is a crime,
thriller and maintains the focus of its audience till the end. The presence of evergreen
heroine Kareena Kapoor as leading female character makes this movie all the
more interesting. Jaideep Ahlawat played the role of mathematics teacher
superbly and it looked as if the role was especially made for him. Vijay Verma
as police official also played fantastic role and despite having minimum role
Saurabh Sachdev played his part well. In brief, the movie was good and a must
watch.
